Bio
I am a PhD student exploring vegetation condition and ecological dynamics in Australia's semi-arid environments, with a focus on how climate and hydrological variability influence floodplain ecosystems. My research combines remote sensing products and climatic datasets to develop spatio-temporal models that predict vegetation responses across the landscape. With my background in mathematics and computing, I work at the intersection of ecohydrology and computational modeling to integrate satellite imagery with field observations and understand complex interactions between water availability, climate, and ecosystem health. My earlier research during my Master's degree in Environmental Management examined water quality and environmental management strategies for infrastructure projects, providing practical experience in assessing environmental impacts. I am passionate about applying advanced modeling techniques to address conservation challenges in water-stressed landscapes like the Murray Darling Basin.
Research
Ecohydrological modelling of flood and groundwater dependent ecosystems
This project develops a spatio-temporal landscape model to predict how iconic red gum and floodplain forest vegetation in the Murray Darling Basin respond to changing climate, streamflow, and groundwater conditions. By integrating satellite data with field observations, the research aims to identify sustainable environmental flow management strategies that balance vegetation health with water salinity and allocation across the basin.
