Harry Paine is a PhD candidate operating within the Precision Agriculture, Hydrology & Geoinformation Science Laboratory at the University of Sydney. His multidisciplinary skillset extends across crop and soil agronomy, proximal and remote sensing technologies, and geospatial modelling. His PhD project focuses on enhancing the scalability of sophisticated crop simulators like the Agricultural Production Systems sIMulator (APSIM) at the paddock scale with the aid of multiplatform sensor platforms and data-driven emulator models. The outputs of his work aim to enhance how crop simulators can guide fertiliser decisions, as well as improve the agronomic applicability of sensor datasets for biophysical models through model emulation.

This thesis focuses upon improving how process-based crop models can be spatially upscaled using remote sensing datasets to improve precision agriculture applications.
